Phone number format and country codes

Get numbers in the right format so messages reach people.

Numbers must be in international format to reach the right person.

• Always include the country code, with no +, spaces, or dashes (e.g., 9198XXXXXXXX for India).
• Don’t start with 0 or use local-only formats.

If messages to a contact fail, an incorrect number format is a common cause.
